Leadership Possibilities

David Maister writes about leading organizations that are valuable for all club leaders.  I think these points made in a post today are especially valuable for Presidents-elect who are planning their upcoming Rotary year:

I find that I keep needing to  repeat these points:

  • Those you lead will never have a longer-term horizon than you do
  • Those you lead will never operate to higher standards than you do
  • Those you lead will never be more optimistic than you are
  • Those you lead will never live the vision if you don't

These ideas also speak to the value of having a defined club vision - and a champion who will keep it on course.
